Create a short link

Paste a long link, give it a name, and get a short link you can share on WhatsApp, Instagram or a printed flyer.

  1. In the left menu, click Links.
  2. Click New link. The Create a short link form opens on the Single tab.
  3. In Destination URL, paste the long link, for example https://mybakery.in/diwali-sweets. It must start with https:// or http://.
  4. Wait a few seconds. Stackly fills in Title from the page. Change it if you like.
  5. Optional: type your own back-half in Short link (see below).
  6. Optional: add Tags.
  7. Click Create link.

Choose your own back-half

The back-half is the part after the slash: in stackly.in/diwali-sweets, it's diwali-sweets.

  • Type it in Short link. Leave it empty and Stackly makes one for you.
  • Use letters, numbers, hyphens (-) and underscores (_) only.
  • Each back-half can be used only once. If it's taken, you'll see a message asking you to try another.

Pick a domain

The box in front of Short link shows the domain, stackly.in by default.

  1. Click the domain box.
  2. Pick one of your own domains, for example go.mybakery.in.

Only verified domains show up here. To add one, see custom domains.

Add a title and tags

  • Title is required (up to 300 characters). It's how you find the link later, so make it clear: "Diwali sweets – Instagram bio".
  • Tags help you group links. Type a tag and press Enter or a comma. Click the × on a tag to remove it.

On a large screen, the Live preview on the right shows the short link, title, tags and settings as you type.

After you click Create link, you're back on the Links page and the new link is in the list.

  1. Click the copy icon next to the short link.
  2. Paste it anywhere: WhatsApp, email, your Instagram bio.

Every link also gets a QR code. See QR codes.

Good to know

  • You can't change the Destination URL after the link is created. Make a new link instead.
  • For password, expiry, targeting and UTM tags, open More options. See link options.
  • Need many links at once? Use the Bulk tab. See shorten many links at once.
  • Your plan sets how many links you can create. See plans and limits.

Troubleshooting

  • "Title is required" → Type a title, or wait for Stackly to fetch it.
  • "Already in use" → That back-half is taken. Try another, or leave it empty.
  • "You have reached the maximum short link limit" → Upgrade your plan to create more.
  • New link is greyed out → Your free trial has ended. See manage your links.
